Uniware's existing Upay software is widely used as a cashless payment system by universities, business and industry catering operations as well as colleges and schools. The solution operates in a similar way to an online banking system enabling card holders to manage their account, view detailed statements and top up funds onto their card via a secure internet site.

Now with the launch of  Upay Mobile, customers can top up and view their account simply by clicking on the icon on their phone or iPad which will take them through to the password-controlled site.

Mike Brand, Uniware's managing director comments: "With mobile phone technology increasingly being at the forefront of our everyday lives, we know that Upay Mobile will be a valuable addition for customers as they can log onto their account wherever they are and at any time of the day.

"With students tending to be the most technically-savvy, we believe there will be ready demand for the app at universities that are already operating our cashless payment system."

The Upay Mobile web application, which can be used on android phones, iPhones and Blackberrys, is now available from the website: www.upaymobile.co.uk .
